My Goodness, My Womens !

As COVID-19 continues to disrupt the global economy and society, it becomes more evident that the pandemic is affecting women and men differently and that gender-balanced responses are necessary. Governments and humanitarian organisations have come together in creating strategies for responding to the challenges arising from the pandemic, including the gendered impacts that pose as a threat to the safety, welfare and economic standing of women worldwide. In more ways than one, the COVID-19 pandemic stands in the way of Women’s Economic Empowerment. Around the world and throughout history, women have come together in different types of groups to offer each other support and address barriers together. These groups have created resilience, often in the absence of other safety nets, and fostered opportunities for women and their families.  Women empowerment mainly refers to the practice of making women independent so that they can make their own decisions as well as handle their lives wi

Quarter 3

In the 3rd quarter my mind has grown and I have made big improvements.  The area I think I made the biggest improvements in is blogging.  I remember that when I first started doing blogs, I was at a loss for what to write all the time, and I wasn't confident that my work was good enough.  I thought that I was writing too little, and I was just really not confident that I would get a good grade.  Now, when I look at the blogs I have written this quarter, I notice that they have been a lot easier to write.  I've gotten good grades on them, and I've written a lot.  I've been confident with everything that I have written, and I had no problem writing good quality work.  This is why I think that the area I have made the most improvement in is blogging. The lessons of this quarter is easy for me to understand because I was super interested in it. I may have encountered problems but I easily coped up with it and went on. At the first lesson I did not understand it at first

Children's Health

Since March 2020, when the pandemic shut down offices and schools across the country, many parents have worried about their children getting sick. And despite some progress, we’re still dealing with these fears more than a year later. Part of why the pandemic is still lingering is that we do not yet have vaccines for everyone. And part of it is also because of vaccine hesitancy. Children are not “little adults,” and they do have different reactions to illness, medication, and vaccinations — so it’s normal for parents to worry. Vaccinating children can help protect family members, including siblings who are not eligible for vaccination and family members who may be at increased risk of getting very sick if they are infected. Vaccination can also help keep children from getting seriously sick even if they do get COVID-19. Vaccinating children ages 5 years and older can help keep them in school and help them safely participate in sports, playdates, and other group activities. Help prote

The Day of Valor

Image
The Day of Valor, also known as Araw ng Kagitingan, commemorates the heroism of Filipinos and American Soldiers when the Japanese occupied the Philippines during World War II. Major General Edward P. King, of the United States Army, was forced to surrender more than 76,000 Filipinos, Chinese and American soldiers to the Japanese at dawn on April 9, 1942. The soldiers were forced to take a 90-mile (about 145 kilometers) hike to Camp O’Donnell in San Fernando. Thousands of prisoners died during the hike (also known as the Bataan Death March) due to starvation, dehydration and diseases before they could reach the camp. Despite the trials of defeat, the captured soldiers stood strong and heroes emerged from the event. The surrender of Bataan hastened the fall of Corregidor. However, without this stand, the Japanese might have quickly overrun all of the US bases in the Pacific. Bataan forced them to slow down, giving the allies valuable time to prepare for conflicts such as the Battle of th
